NationsConnect was created by Kwusen Research & Media to streamline the consultation process for government organizations, industry, and Indigenous communities. Previously, government and industry submitted consultations to Indigenous communities by registered mail, email, or electronically via individual Community KnowledgeKeeper (CKK) systems. The result was that government and industry were required to manage multiple forms of communication for a single project and enter the same data into multiple CKK systems. Similarly, Indigenous communities were receiving information on projects through multiple channels and left to manage multiple, redundant, and often inconsistent project information that created extra work in their already overburdened offices.
With a simple, user-friendly process, NationsConnect allows government and industry users to submit consultation projects directly to multiple Indigenous communities at once. Projects are sent to a CKK or as email notifications to communities that do not have a need for their own dedicated CKK system.
